This project is particularly gratifying. Thanks to the drive of its founder, Lucrezia Hausmann, it is expanding rapidly. Given the success of the seamstresses’ specialization in making wedding dresses, the advanced training course has been extended through June so that participants can also learn to make men’s suits. This is clearly a plus.
The French classes are also becoming increasingly popular. The participants are finding it easier to find work and/or are able to help their children with their schooling and studies.
In addition, Lucrezia is also involved in the development of another nearby small community, Tsaranoro, where a new workshop/school will be built with the help of the local population, making it possible to offer sewing classes, as the demand for skilled seamstresses is also high in this valley.
